Student Connections and Support

At Senator Allan Bird Memorial School, we believe that learning begins with connection — to self, to others, to culture, to community, and to the land. Our Student Connections & Wellness team is here to support the full journey of our students, from the first steps in Nursery to the achievements of Grade 12 graduation.

Rooted in the values of our First Nations traditions and teachings, we support the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being of all students. We know that when students feel safe, supported, and proud of who they are, they can thrive — both in the classroom and beyond.

What We Offer:

  • Caring & confidential support for students at all grade levels
  • Cultural programming, traditional teachings, and land-based learning
  • One-on-one and group support for social, emotional, or mental health needs
  • Opportunities to connect with Elders and Knowledge Keepers
  • Community involvement
  • Wellness activities to promote balance and belonging

High School Academic Support:

For our Grades 10–12 students, we also provide focused academic support to help you succeed in your classes, plan for graduation, and prepare for life beyond high school. Whether you need help with coursework, time management, tutoring, or planning for post-secondary or career paths, we are here to help you stay on track and reach your goals.

We work alongside classroom teachers, student services, and families to provide wraparound support, because we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to shine — in their own way, and in their own time.

Our doors — and hearts — are always open
