This is an announcement for the Fall 2026 Indigenous Access Transition Education Certificate (IATEC) program offered through the First Nations University of Canada in partnership with Montreal Lake Cree Nation. This one-year community-based program allows students to pursue post-secondary education while remaining in their home community.The program is designed to support learners in building the academic skills and confidence needed for further studies, while staying connected to their culture and community. This is the Montreal Lake 18th Annual Walleye Derby, taking place on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at Montreal Lake, Saskatchewan. The derby features a six-hour catch-and-release competition running from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one hole per person and all holes pre-drilled. A total of $246,500 in prize payouts will be awarded, including a $100,000 grand prize, with prizes paid out to 20th place. A side bet for the heaviest fish (excluding walleye) is included with all tickets and offers prizes up to $20,000. Registration will take place from March 18–20, 2026, at the Days Inn & Conference Centre in Prince Albert from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Advance tickets are $200, with on-site tickets available on March 21, 2026, for $250. The event also includes 50/50 draws throughout the day and door prizes, with no limit on ticket sales.
