October Calendar

Turkey Dinner

Join us for the School/Community Thanksgiving Meal on October 11, 2025. SABMS students will eat in the gym from 11:30am–12:30pm, and the community meal will take place from 1:00pm–2:00pm. Door prizes will be available for students, community members, elders, and infants & toddlers.

April, 2026 Newsletter

The Senator Allan Bird Memorial School has released its April 2026 school calendar, outlining upcoming school events and activities for students.Highlights include the SABMS Fish Derby and Cree Oratory TSEC Competition on April 1, Pizza Sales throughout the month, Easter Break from April 6–10, Wellness First Aid training (April 20–21), the Fine Arts Festival (April 20–23), and the MLCN Wellness Conference (April 28–30).Students will also continue regular extracurricular activities such as Cree Choir practice, Powwow practice, and dance practices during the month.

Fall 2026 IATEC program

This is an announcement for the Fall 2026 Indigenous Access Transition Education Certificate (IATEC) program offered through the First Nations University of Canada in partnership with Montreal Lake Cree Nation. This one-year community-based program allows students to pursue post-secondary education while remaining in their home community.The program is designed to support learners in building the academic skills and confidence needed for further studies, while staying connected to their culture and community. It provides an opportunity for individuals to begin their educational journey close to home in Montreal Lake Cree Nation.Those interested in applying or learning more about the program can contact the coordinators listed on the poster or use the application link and QR code provided below.

March, 2026 Newsletter

This is the Senator Allan Bird Memorial School calendar for March 2026. It highlights important dates such as the THINK Conference (March 4–6, no school), Block 3 ending, Staff PD Day, and the Annual Winter Festival. Other key events include Block 4 starting, Early Dismissal and Staff Meeting, Report Card Day, St. Patrick’s Day, the TV & PS5 Draw, Spelling Bee in Saskatoon, MLCN Fish Derby, and the Community Fish Derby (with no school in lieu). Library Hours

This is the Senator Allan Bird Memorial School Library Hours information. It outlines the weekly hours of operation: Monday from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:15 AM to 5:30 PM, and Friday from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM. The library offers a welcoming space with snacks, books, movies, and warm beverages such as tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.

February, 2026 Newsletter

ML Fishing Derby Fundraiser

This is the Montreal Lake 18th Annual Walleye Derby, taking place on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at Montreal Lake, Saskatchewan. The derby features a six-hour catch-and-release competition running from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one hole per person and all holes pre-drilled. A total of $246,500 in prize payouts will be awarded, including a $100,000 grand prize, with prizes paid out to 20th place. A side bet for the heaviest fish (excluding walleye) is included with all tickets and offers prizes up to $20,000. Registration will take place from March 18–20, 2026, at the Days Inn & Conference Centre in Prince Albert from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Advance tickets are $200, with on-site tickets available on March 21, 2026, for $250. The event also includes 50/50 draws throughout the day and door prizes, with no limit on ticket sales.
