SR girls golf championships

The golf championships were held at the Rolling Pines golf course, which is about 15 minutes out of Nipawin.

Blanche, Jastin, Quaid and I went with the 8 students for the championships. The 8 students that attended for the golf divisions were:

SR Girls – Patricia Halkett Shauntiana Okemow

SR Boys – Tyrell Yuzicappi Rylan Natamogan

JR Girls – Desirae Ballantyne Lakeisha Bird

JR Boys – Aleron Bird Tyrese Naytowhow

all 8 of our SABMS representatives did great, the JR boys bought home the bronze medals in their division. There were a total of 5 schools that participated in event. Most of the schools had 2 teams of 2 for each division (which was allowed) so those schools had an advantage.

The students behaviours were great and they were awesome ambassadors for our school.

Next May and June, I would like to start a golf club for our students, to have them ready for the championships in the fall of next school year. We have some great athletes that have the potential to strive in their talent or sports, its up to us to help guide them in the right positive directions. We have amazing students and they need encouragement and guidance to help them strive for the best.

I would like to also acknowledge Blanche (our JR girls coach, chaperone and driver), Quaid (JR boys chaperone and coach), Jastin ( SR boys chaperone and coach). It is much appreciated for them stepping up and volunteering their time and dedication for our students. Without this three staff, I would not have been able to get our students to the golf championships. Tiniki

The Montreal Lake Sports Camp, held from September 27–29, 2025, brings students together for three days of connection, teamwork, and wellness. Hosted by the Montreal Lake Wellness Hub, the camp features soccer, volleyball, recreational games, and land-based activities that encourage youth to stay active while embracing their culture and community spirit. It’s a time to build friendships, learn new skills, and celebrate the importance of balance between physical wellness and cultural identity.
